local council honors successes in skiing

Winter sports clubs brought team victory and 13 red jerseys to Turnau:

The Turnau winter sports clubs WSV Turnau and WSV Au/Turnau have once again completed an extremely successful ski season. In the 2024/25 winter season, WSV Turnau won eleven class classifications in the district ski cup, while WSV Au won two of the 22 total class classifications. WSV Turnau also won the overall club classification for the fourth time in a row by a record margin.

In recognition of these outstanding sporting achievements, the market town of Turnau awarded special subsidies to the local ski clubs.

"We are very proud of our winter sports clubs and congratulate them on this outstanding success. A big thank you goes to the coaches and families for their support. In general, we are grateful that Turnau's youth receive such optimal support from our clubs. With our Turnau ski lifts, we also have the best competition and training conditions for our athletes," said a delighted Mayor, LAbg. Stefan Hofer.
