Turnau social bonus will continue in 2025

The market town of Turnau helps its population financially

Global crises and the associated price increases continue to place a massive burden on people. To provide support in these difficult times, the market town of Turnau launched its own social bonus in 2023. This will also be paid out this year.

"I am committed to ensuring that all those in our community who need our help receive it. Because we cannot let the weakest in society down. Right now, we need more solidarity instead of a jealous coexistence. With the Turnau social bonus, our market town is helping those who are particularly hard hit by various cost increases," says Mayor LAbg. Stefan Hofer.

New guidelines for claiming this measure have been in effect since January 1, 2025. Persons who have had their main residence in the market town of Turnau since at least January 1, 2025 and whose household income does not exceed the following limits are eligible:

• single persons: EUR 1,572.00

• Married couples or household communities: EUR 2,358.00

• Increased contribution per child receiving family allowance: EUR 472.00

The basis for the calculation is the annual salary, whereby any 13th and 14th monthly salary play no role in the calculation. The subsidy is granted as a one-off payment for the respective calendar year. The amount of the subsidy is 120 euros. Half of the amount is paid out in cash, the other half in the form of Turnau shopping vouchers. This is intended to further strengthen purchasing power and the local economy. The social bonus must be applied for at the citizens' office of the market town of Turnau.
