Felix Payer made his debut as conductor

The Turnau Spring Concerts were once again a true cultural delight this year. With a sophisticated and highly successful program, the new and young conductor of the Turnau Music Association, Felix Payer, celebrated an impressive premiere with his orchestra. Highlights of the concerts included the commissioned composition "The Gateway to the Hochschwab," featuring motifs from the Archduke Johann Song by Siegmund Andraschek, and "Gabriella's Song" with the impressive vocal soloist Kristina Dettenweitz. The Turnau Hochsteirer Choir also participated in both works.

The program also included, among other pieces, the Coronation March by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Émil Waldteufel's "España Waltz," the aria "Nessun Dorma" by Giacomo Puccini, and the Jennifer Lopez hit "Let's Get Loud." The young musicians of the Turnau Youth Wind Orchestra also received enthusiastic applause for their performances. Mayor Stefan Hofer hosted the event. Sabine Strecher, Robert Tanzmeister, Martina Karlon, and Annemarie Wagner were honored for their contributions to the music association.
