Interesting symposium under the motto “New Bridges and Currents”:
The Wasserstatt Mill in Turnau, a large part of which is a listed building, served as a source of diverse, creative, and sometimes unusual ideas for fourteen architecture students at Vienna University of Technology last fall. The proposals were recently presented to the public as part of the "New Bridges and Trends" symposium.
In addressing the existing spatial situation, which is largely characterized by vacancy, utilization concepts were developed for the three areas of "Education," "Living," and "Research." These works were exhibited in the form of models, graphics, texts, and photographs. Interesting expert presentations, an exhibition by the local art group, and a delicious buffet rounded out the day.
"The listed Wasserstatt Mill is an architectural gem of our market town, but has been forgotten over time. I am all the more grateful to the current owner, Elsa Brunner, who wants to revitalize this farm complex step by step and make it accessible to the general public. The scenarios presented by the students will provide a good basis for this," says a delighted Mayor and Deputy Mayor Stefan Hofer.
