Residential projects and the revitalized Wasserstatt Mill were visited:

At the invitation of Mayor Stefan Hofer, State Councilor Simone Schmiedtbauer visited the market town of Turnau. During this visit, she inspected projects that were made possible with generous financial support from Schmiedtbauer's housing department.

The ENNSTAL housing group is currently constructing three innovative residential projects. ENNSTAL CEO Wolfram Sacherer presented the projects in detail. A modern housing concept called "Living 4.0" is being implemented on the site behind the Turnau nursing home, promoting intergenerational coexistence. The project comprises apartments ranging in size from 33 to 70 square meters. In the immediate vicinity, another building will provide a new home for 12 Lebenshilfe clients. In addition, three rental apartments will be installed in this building, thus enabling inclusive living in the heart of Turnau. The third project, an additional building with four subsidized rental apartments with purchase options, is being built on Kirchbühel, alongside the residential buildings already opened in 2020. The modern apartments, ranging in size from 55 to 85 square meters, offer a sunny and central location.

"We are vigorously pursuing our goal of establishing Turnau as a popular residential and feel-good community through the implementation of these projects. A prerequisite for this is financial support from the State of Styria, for which I am very grateful to State Councilor Simone Schmiedtbauer," says a delighted Mayor Hofer.

State Councilor Simone Schmiedtbauer says: "Strong regions are safe regions. I am therefore committed to affordable, sustainable, and high-quality housing in rural areas. The new apartments in Turnau are exemplary examples of this approach. I thank all partners with whom we are making progress here, and I am already looking forward to welcoming the future residents to their new homes!"

Also on Councilor Schmiedtbauer's itinerary was the Wasserstatt Mill, located below the local fire station. This historically significant mill building has recently been revitalized. Owner Elsa Brunner, who guided the delegation through the complex, plans to make it more accessible to the public in the future, conduct a variety of activities in the building, and thus keep it vibrant.
